Owner Comments: When filling the fuel tank on my newly restored 1972 TR6 at a neighborhood gas station, the attendant, who I knew for years, exclaimed that he had in his garage a Triumph that he planned to restore. After some questioning I discovered that he did not know the model number but the engine was the same and the body was different. It sat in his garage for 12 years and his wife wanted it gone. So the next morning I was at his garage and looked upon a very restorable TR250 which I knew was going to be mine and sure enough, two hours later it was on its way to my workshop. For the next five years the car was totally disassembled and every part was rebuilt and hung from the rafters of the garage. Finally, I had to sell my TR6 to finance the balance of the project. The ground up restoration started to amass paid reciepts the total of which I still hide to this day. In September of 1995 I was finished and the dream I once had of owning a TR-250 was a reality. You see in 1968 I wanted to buy one. After leaving the dealership I set about working extra hours, scrimping and saving till finally I had the $3200 needed. To the dealership I ran and found to my dismay that I couldn't buy a new one at any price. They, as we now know, were discontinued. The TR6 would have been the 1968 model if Michelotti hadn't screwed up. My dream of buying a TR250 were gone but not to let the money go to waste, I ordered a red TR6 to be delivered in England. I picked it up at the Coventry factory, drove it three weeks through Europe and shipped it back to the U.S. and all for the same 3200.00. Gone are the days of Freddy Laker. Thats a whole other story!! The car was recomissioned at a party in its honor and named Lady Lenore to honor the lady who gave much for its sake. Lenore, my better half, gave up many hours waiting for me to come home and listened to my ramblings related to technical problems along the way. My obsession became our possesion and we enjoy it tremendously. And by the way, Lenore picked the color.
